Graphics to laser. ILDA-ready.

Convert graphics and motion design to laser animations.

Cross-Platform Windows • macOS • Linux

Capabilities

Built for laser workflows

Everything you need to move from files to projector-ready output.

01

Dark interface

Calm, high-contrast UI for long sessions in dim environments.

02

Drag & drop

Drop files into the window and stay in flow.

03

Live preview

Check SVG and PNG before you commit to ILDA.

04

Batch processing

Queues, folders, and repeatables—without babysitting.

05

Progress & status

Clear feedback while conversions run.

06

Deep controls

Point density, dwell, smoothness, and format options.

Pipeline

Conversion modes

Convert Lottie, raster graphics, vector artwork, and movie files to ILDA—and export ILDA back to SVG, PNG, OBJ, and packed textures for round-trip workflows (LaserTrace BETA v1.3.3).

Lottie → SVG

Motion

Use case: Export a motion piece from After Effects with the Lottie plugin (e.g. Bodymovin)—then open that Lottie file in LaserTrace to turn it into a sequence of SVG vector frames.

  • AE → Lottie export (.json, .lottie, or .tgs) → numbered SVGs
  • Optional start / end frame range
  • Requires the lottie package in the app environment

Lottie → ILDA

Motion

Use case: Same path as Lottie → SVG—export from After Effects with the Lottie plugin—then go straight to ILDA for lasers. LaserTrace writes a single ILDA animation file (.ild): each Lottie frame becomes a frame in that file, so you get one laser-ready animation with every frame in the ILDA sequence.

  • AE → Lottie (.json, .lottie, .tgs) → one multi-frame .ild
  • Frame range, points, dwell, smoothness (same idea as SVG → ILDA)
  • ILDA Format 0 or 5 (format choice tied to licensing in-app)

PNG → SVG

Raster

Raster to vector for logos, stills, and traced artwork—single files or whole folders.

  • Threshold 0–255 for binarization
  • Pro Trace (potrace) or OpenCV contours
  • Import folder mode for batch PNGs

SVG → ILDA

Vector

Direct vector-to-ILDA using the v2 converter (multi-shape paths). Optional folder import for batch SVGs.

  • Points, dwell, smoothness; invert Y
  • Format 0 (3D index color) or Format 5 (2D true color)
  • Custom output directory and .ild basename

MOV → ILDA

Video

Import a video file and convert it to an ILDA animation—ready to use with laser playback and show workflows.

  • MOV, MP4, AVI, and other common video formats
  • Export as a multi-frame .ild animation
  • Control how frames are sampled and how the ILDA output is shaped

ILDA → ILDA

ILDA

Combine multiple .ild files from a folder into one sequence, or process a single multi-frame ILDA animation file.

  • Frame name and company name metadata (8 characters each)
  • Optional resampling (10–10,000 points) or keep original counts
  • Folder mode: natural sort of .ild / .ILDA / .ilda files

ILDA → TD

Export

Export a frame from an ILDA file for TouchDesigner and 3D / compositing workflows (“Export ILDA for TD” in the app).

  • Packed texture PNG (square texture)
  • Wavefront OBJ (lines, normalized, optional MTL)
  • PNG preview or SVG vector trace of a frame
